If you're not looking at the Structures of Hypnotism cover preceding contents, it's caused by a strange Firefox quirk. (MS-IE works normally). Until I find a fix, you can force the cover to appear by opening the View menu (above) and click Character Encoding + ISO 8859-1.  ...or view it here: >Temporary Fix<

The Structures of Hypnotism Cover should be in this space.

History From Mesmer to Freud

The Testing Approach To A Hypnosis Induction

A Triad Presentation of an Actual Clinical Procedure

How many realize that hypnotism was originally developed by surgeons before chemical anesthetics were widely available? Do you think a modern hypnotist could measure up to the surgeon-hypnotists of the 19th century? Many of these surgeons did (for example) amputations on a daily basisand often there was no pain as a result of the use of hypnotism.

In the 20th and 21st century, hypnotism often has become a diminished approach of pre-written scrips that circumvent testing procedures--using a script in hypnosis is analogous to a robot doing surgery.

I suspect many recently-trained hypnotists have never seen a hypnosis response scale, and therefore, (unless luck prevails) offer llittle more than a relaxation technique. I don't think most of the current crop of hypnotists would be uncomfortable using their technique in a surgical, dental, or obstetric setting.

If you would like to be introduced to the basics of hypnotism as it once was, consider this e-text.

WDS Library Catalog WebSite One
Zero To WebSite eBay Me WebPage
I believe Instant-Image.WebSites offers the biggest-bang-for-the buck available anywhere. I'm offering a no-template, custom-built website including the following:
- a custom-built home (index) page
- a catalog with compact photographs linked to another webpage with the original size
  photographs--and expanded descriptions if necessary.
- A weblog (blog) webpage ready for daily posts.
- Two RSS Feeds for the catalog and the weblog.
- A contact-us webpage,,,
- An ebay me page that will upload to the ebay website.
- A Google Sitemap XML feed for Search Engine Optimization
- An additional webpage of the owner's choosing.
-  A extensive catalog of tutorials for e-commerce issues, SEO (search optimization),
   podcasting, etc.

If  your website represents an e-commerce business, a catalog is critical.  As a promotional tool, the catalog is much more powerful than the weblog. Here is the rationale:
- A catalog, by its nature, carries the expectation of a webpage where things are sold. A weblog does not have that expectation so to sell there could be considered crass.

- In a catalog, a quick and easy payment system is expected. A blog is considered a place to experience the author's thoughts chronologically and then have the opportunity to interact. Including a PayPal link in a blog would be unexpected and perhaps resented.

- The more items in a catalog the better--the catalog will grow with your business. A weblog is better when focused on a narrow concept or topic.

- Reminiscent of the Sears Roebuck Catalog, a large catalog is desirable. Many people have fond memories of the Sears BigBook and Montgomery Ward's WishBook.

- Two of the most successful businesses on the internet are ebay and CraigsList ...both follow a catalog format.
  - This program will offer up to seven HTML files -
- three XML files -
...and dozens of image files.
The fee includes  one free month of maintenance and instruction that will allow the owner (or the owner's agent) to be maintain and upload (FTP) all local files to a Webhost with total control of the website. During construction, the local files can be regularly downloaded to the owner's computer so it will be possible for them to take control (or transfer control) at any time. I use a common HTML editor so any skilled Webmaster could take over at your direction.
All this for $495.00
-  The monthly maintenance service: After the included 30 day period, I will maintain the website for $19.95/month on a month-to-month basis, which will include regular posts to the weblog and RSS Feeds. I can also train you during the initial construction so you (or your agent) can do it yourself: >SeeBelow<

Before you commit to the $495 program, it's a good idea to do a $30 consulting program with me. I have several options that facilitate a private consultation. >SeeBelow<
If you can't cover the full price all at once, we can do it in three installments of $165 each.

- Check list for a powerful e-commerce website -
-  When designing an index page, be sure it reflects the personality of the website
owner--rather than the Webmaster or the website itself.
-  Be sure the links from the index webpage are visible at a glance.
-  Use any form of animation sparingly--none (IMO) is better.
-  Use color sparingly. I think color is okay at the margins as in this webpage.
-  Music, on any webpage, is an irritation to many websurfers.
- It's critical that a catalog webpage be extremely easy to navigate.
-  Build a catalog webpage that reminds websurfers of the traditional glue & paper
catalog.  I usually use an Arial font in black on a white background.
-  Be sure the catalog focal point is always directed toward the for-sale items.
Catalog item descriptions should be brief, Expanded information and/or large pictures
should be linked on a separate webpage, and always with a clearly visible return link.
Never depend on the surfer knowing about their browser's back/refresh-button.
-  Don't allow the ambiance of the catalog webpage to be in aesthetic competition with
    the items for sale.

- Always be sure the links to the homepage, the contact-us page, and other links are
visible on the same screen when such a link becomes necessary--links should be
   intuitive.
- If you use side-panel or top-panel links, don't limit these as the only source of links.
-
Be sure a web-surfer is never dead-ended after clicking any link. Again, new surfers
may not be familiar with the back/refresh button.

-  Never force a potential customer to search for the price of an item.
-  Don't be stingy with email or a contact-us link.
-  If possible, provide a PayPal  link with the price included. Always offer the opportunity for
   for an impulse purchase.
-  Never use a template no matter how much time it saves.

Instant-Image.WebSites
The Power of the Do-It-Yourself website
Instant-Image.WebSites #2This is a unique do-it-yourself program in which you will be fully trained to build your own e-commerce website. It's a skill that will last a lifetime!

Price: $90.00. This includes (3) private telephone sessions along with several e-books and tutorials. Each telephone consultation will take you to the next skill level--with back-up tutorials and other reference material. Each private consultation will last at least an hour. Additional $30 private sessions are available if needed.

Here's a good idea: Some have started with the full program and at their own speed, developed the skills to maintain their Instant-Image website. Some get caught-up in the process to the point of building a website from scratch--building websites can be addictive.

Most programs (esp. template programs) don't encourage this ...but as an old shrink I don't like to create conditions of dependency. As a successful e-commerce person, it's important to develop the independence this powerful skill provides.

I'll be adding additional details about this program as I find the time--check back often.

Instant-Image.WebSites #3
The Provisional Program
Instant-Image.WebSites #3: This program that will help you decide the best program for you and your e-commerce business: (1) a custom built program (2) a do-it-yourself program with guidance (3) a template program. #3 is not usually recommended. Here are some questions to ask yourself before you start a serious e-commerce program:

[ ]Yes - No[ ] - Are you able to focus you attention many hours a day?
[ ]Yes - No[ ] - Are you willing to learn to use a free (open source) HTML editor?
[ ]Yes - No[ ] - Do you agree that maximum control of your business website is critical?
[ ]Yes - No[ ] - You don't believe the ads that promise to make you rich with little effort.
If you answered [No] to any of these questions, I would most likely suggest the full program as described above: Instant-Image.WebSites #1

If you answered [Yes] to these questions, but you're still not sure you want to take the cyberspace plunge, this Instant-Image.WebSites #3 program could help. It includes a private telephone session with me, a tutorial, and an audio program including a grade-it-yourself test.

~ WebSite Programs for Realtors ~
Every website has a purpose. The purpose most commonly thought of is to drive customers to the website owner. Many Webmasters tout SEO (search engine optimization) as something their websites possess over other websites. Mathematically, SEO couldn't be a factor considering the huge number of Real Estate websites on-line.

If you were selling something of very low availability (such as surplus aircraft carriers), or something very unusual (Pickled Emu Gizzards) ...something in which human contact is not required, then the website's primary purpose is to attract customers. Better examples are on-line stores that sell vitamins, books, CDs, and items in which repeat business is constant. Homes and commercial property, of course, do not fall into this category

If something requires human contact of the nurturing kind, the website will seldom produce a customer, particularly when there are many Realtors not only competing  for the  same customer but selling the same property. Some eager Realtors spend
$thousands$ hoping an outstanding website will win more customers--potential clients can be put off by an extra fancy website when they really want "human contact of the nurturing kind." The "beautiful" website may say to the potential client, "This Realtor will demand a big commission!"

This said, a website needs to fill the role of a tool for the Realtor. It needs to be designed so that it enhances the nurturing contact often required by buyers and sellers of homes. A website might serve the purpose of a 24-7 contact with the Realtor between personal tours of a property ...perhaps the website could provide information that doesn't require the personal touch, or even personal information about the Realtor and his or her family.

But here is a powerful but seldom-used technique: It's easy to put up snapshots for the client's eyes only. Personal audio files can be put on-line in a similar way.
If this doesn't impress a client, nothing will! ...and it can be done without special (or expensive) programs. You'll be amazed how easy it is. This program will explain this and other techniques in detail.

Is it good to include high-quality photographs and videos of a number of properties?
Most Realtor's websites do that, but there is the danger of unintended consequences by creating preconceived notions of a property before it's viewed in the real world.

As one example, great photography and Photo-Shop skills usually show a better than real-life image of the property causing a let-down feeling at the first "real" viewing. A pre-tour look at a property does not offer the sales person an opportunity to intuitively direct the client's imagination. This could cause a mental state called the image-gap effect. I'll cover this in this program.

Also, when the client gets into the habit of looking at website photography, your influence will be diluted by the websites of your competitors.

So, can you see that the Realtor's website is not a place to bring in customers but rather a place to send clients when personal contact is not practical?

The Realtor's website must never attempt to replace personal contact. The difference in website design between customer attraction and client support is like night-and-day.

Below is a small sample of the material that is available with this program
